More than 200 local governments in Texas have joined the H-GAC Energy Purchasing Corporation. Members of the H-GAC Aggregation take advantage of a real-time, competitive head-to-head procurement process to select their Retail Electricity Provider (REP). Competitive purchasing of electricity as a part of the H-GAC Energy Purchasing Corporation means that local governments are taking advantage of pre-negotiated contracts for the supply of electricity. In addition, the Corporation is the official advocate on any electricity-related issues. H-GAC staff works directly with its Energy Consultant, CGP Solutions, and its contracted REPs on behalf of every local government wishing to purchase electricity through the Aggregation.

Participation in the H-GAC Energy Purchasing Corp.
STEP 1 Pass the Resolution This Resolution makes your jurisdiction a member of the H-GAC Energy Purchasing Corporation and must be passed by the governing body. H-GAC then acts as your agent to begin the process of procuring electricity for your jurisdiction.
STEP 2 Complete the Pricing Packet Sign the "Member Pricing Agreement" and promptly return to H-GAC. You will then be sent a "Letter of Authorization" (LOA) which must be signed & returned to CGP Solutions along with a complete list of all meters (identified by ESI-ID) you wish to be on contract. The LOA gives H-GAC and CGP Solutions the authority to retrieve necessary electrical usage data directly from your utility.
STEP 3 Execute an Electricity Contract Once a time is arranged to receive a "transactable price quote," H-GAC and CGP Solutions will discuss with you the various contract terms and pricing plans available. When an REP is selected, the appropriate contract is then executed.
